BoBo
1 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Bobo is definitely the life of the farm. He is my other toddler who loves to keep me busy. Bobo did actually come to me from a breeder as I was looking specifically for a corgi puppy and was unable to find one in rescue. As I moved to a new place, Bandit moved with me but Comet did not. I go a see me little old lady girl at my parents house all the time, but she is blind and deaf and attempting to move to a house she is unfamiliar with was just going to be to hard for her. Although Comet was happy to be an only child at this point (annoying kids!), Bandit was not. Bandit definitely relied on Comet for guidance and support and was having a hard time without her. So I began my search for a companion for him.
Although I love to rescue, I very much have a heart for corgis and their personality fits into my life perfectly. They are not little lap dogs (not all the time at least), they really are working dogs. They need a job and they need to work and they love the farm life. I looked around at rescues but it is rare to find a corgi in rescue, especially one who is good with other dogs. As much as I wanted to rescue, I knew that getting a puppy with the right personality was going to be the best option to ensure a good fit.
I was lucky enough to find a breeder who actually had a current litter of puppies available. After getting approved for adoption, I went to go and pick out my new puppy. I sat with the puppies for quite a while trying to make the best pick. Although I thought a female would be the best pick, a very cute and sweet little boy kept coming over to myself and my friend and just putting his head on our legs looking for attention. He was actually calm and gentle yet unafraid and I knew that he was the right fit.
Turns out it was a trick and he is actually a menace to society! He is still a very sweet and snuggly boy but he definitely has the crazy corgi energy. He is super confident and has helped bring his brother out of his shell more and more each day. Watching him and his brother run around and play is the highlight of my days for sure.
